Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 1, 2026

DriveGPSProof ("the app") is an iOS speedometer and trip-recording application. This policy explains what data the app handles and where it goes. The short version: your location data stays on your device and in your own iCloud. We do not operate servers that receive your trips.

Location Data

The app records GPS position, speed, and accuracy while a trip is active, including in the background if you allow it. This data is used to:

Location recording stops when your trip ends. You can disable GPS auto-start in Settings so location is only used when you explicitly start a trip.

iCloud Backup (Premium)

If you subscribe to Premium, completed trips are backed up to your private iCloud database via Apple CloudKit. This data is encrypted in transit, stored under your Apple ID, and is not accessible to us. Deleting the app's data from iCloud is possible via iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud.

Road Data

If you enable road alerts or facility detection (Premium), the app sends your approximate coordinates to the OpenStreetMap Overpass API to find nearby points of interest (fuel stations, construction zones, etc.). These requests contain coordinates only — no account identifiers. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under ODbL.

Sign in with Apple

Signing in is optional. When you sign in, the app stores your Apple user identifier and display name locally on your device to show your account status. We do not transmit these to any server of ours.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit. We never see your payment details. Subscription status is verified on-device with Apple's servers.

Advertising

The free version shows banner ads served by Google AdMob. Where required, you will be asked for consent via Google's User Messaging Platform before personalized ads are shown. AdMob may collect device identifiers and ad-interaction data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. Premium removes all advertising.

Issue Reports

If you submit a report through "Report Issue" in Settings, the report text, category, optional screenshot, and basic device info (model, iOS version) are sent to our support backend after a spam check. Reports are used solely to investigate the issue and are deleted after resolution.

What We Do Not Do

Data Deletion

Deleting a trip in the app removes it from the local database. To remove iCloud backups, delete the app's data via iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage. Uninstalling the app removes all local data.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above will change accordingly. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's release notes.
